**Booking for meals may be required – Phone Margaret to book.
PLEASE PHONE THE WALK LEADER AT LEAST THE DAY BEFORE THE WALK TO CONFIRM YOUR INTENTION OF GOING. LAST MINUET CANELLATIONS SHOULD BE MADE JUST BEFORE 8 AM ON THE DAY OF THE WALK.
If you intend to join the walk at a point OTHER than Bonkle please let us know.
Please note that we walk as a group of friends. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are properly equipped for the walks, and undertake walks within your own capability. Advice can be given on equipment, but generally suitable boots are required on all walks. With the usual Scottish weather waterproofs should be carried (coat, trousers). It is a good idea to take dry clothes, some of which may be left in the car. An individual first aid kit could be handy. Remember, temperature drops and wind increases with increase in height, so hat, gloves and extra warm, clothing may be required on the hill.
If you are leading, appoint a "back marker". Adjust your speed, or stop frequently, so that you can see the "back marker". The rest of the group should stay between the leader and back marker so that we can be sure that no-one has been "lost". This is especially important in mist
Please note that where meals are arranged, you must notify Margaret Glen at 01698 386028 or jeglen&talktalk.net of your intention of going on the walk.
Walks leave Bonkle Church car park at 2.00 pm on Sundays and 9.00 am Saturday or Tuesday. If you wish to join walk at another point please phone the leader at 8 am. Also if weather is "iffy'" please phone leader in case walk is changed or cancelled. If weather too wild for hills, alternative may be arranged.
